I had tried Johnnie some time back and I was not at all impressed. I had gotten a pastrami. It's possible they had a bad day that day. This time around ohhh baby!! Wait time is long as ahh but it was yummooo. We enjoyed them very much. I would most certainly recommend sharing unless you aren't into sharing. The space is super small and parking sucks. I would recommend calling it in. I sat in the car and parked next door at the taco joint. My honey was not happy about having to get out and and order and on top of that the long wait. We we're in the area though so we just stopped by. Leta say the wait was worth it we were both happy !

This is a beautiful place , a throwback to yesteryears, old school waitresses and decor , the old American diner . I had of course the pastrami sandwich which was plentiful and very fresh, the onion rings alone are worth coming in here for , they're big and juicy and oh so fresh. I topped it all off with a delicious strawberry milkshake which was one of the best I've had anywhere . This place is definitely worth coming into, the service is fast and friendly, the food is fresh and tasty, good experience.

Don't sneeze....you will miss it! Still quite the hidden little gem! It's still the same with the added alcohol menu. That's right...ALCOHOL...vodka...tequila...beer....i sure don't remember that from back in the day! I ordered 5 pastrami dips and paid 97$. Not one eye did I roll...cuz I knew it was worth every dime of it. The $4.98 I spent for a skinny bottle of Orange Crush....i was thirsty...so I didn't trip until I got further down the road....lol.... The service was swift and accurate. No problem there! The ambiance is cool! There's a covered eating area which is right on point! Breeze, Cali sun, and some smooth music playing in the background...while eating some good, hearty, juicy, soft, pastrami dipped in a soft and not so salty au jus!

I could have sworn I wrote a review for this place like 10-15 years back . Food has always been delicious. We seriously drive out the way to come here when we are in Diamond Bar & Pasadena area. Staff work like a pit stop crew and service has always been great. I am so glad they take cards now, they used to be cash only. They have two outdoor seating area and if available it's a must to sit outside.

I was told this place is the best for pastrami sandwiches. Gave it a try it didn't disappoint at all. Parking is tough but service was great despite it being busy. Food gate amazing and you can see them making the sandwiches. If you love pastrami this is your go to spot

Love their Pastrami, who's Pastrami, Johnnie's French dip Pastrami Look I live a distance away from 4017 Sepulveda in Culver City, so if I do happen to be any where in that city I make a B line to Johnnie's; it keeps calling me man. It's that good. You can't find a better Pastrami anywhere in at least that city that I know of or yet to find. So stop by get one and you'll see what I mean. Tell'em Jonathan sent you or at least you saw them on yelp!

This beloved Culver City icon is my favorite pastrami spot in LA (Steven's Burgers in Gardena is a close second). I had a craving and was passing the area about a month ago and decided to grab a couple of pastrami sandwiches for my partner and me. He's never been here, so that made me a little more excited. I love showing him my LA gems! I have not been since 2016, but they've been around since 1952 I knew it would still be the same great sandwich. Stood in line for about 15 minutes, as someone was taking orders in the line. Waited another 15 minutes for our sandwiches and then headed home. The sandwiches are huge, I take half the meat out refrigerate it, and then make another sandwich. I love my pastrami crispy so you can ask them to cook it a little longer. Parking lot in the back lot, but fills up quickly and gets busy. I've never sat at the counter inside or purchased the dip. I've heard the dip is great too!

Was out and about after a therapy session, and wanted some fast food. Looked up this cute little diner-esque establishment. As I got closer, they had a parking area and also an outside eating section which was cool. I was ordering to go so as I approached the staff was very nice and friendly. I am currently a little temporarily disabled after surgery. So the to go section was perfectly put by the door. I sat down outside after placing my order and the nice lady brought it to me noticing I couldn't walk too good. When I got home, I was so excited to try this as I love pastrami sandwiches. The onion rings tasted great as they weren't over oily or fried. The pastrami sandwich was delicious with the right amount of mustard and the pickles on the side. So glad I had a chance to eat here.

Heard of Johnnie's. Driven by countless times. Never been. Until last week. Made plans to grab a bite with a friend and when she suggested Johnnie's, picked her up and off we went. Located on Sepulveda. So, parking can be a pain. There's a lot that looked to be free but was full. Found street parking - also free. I don't remember what time the parking restrictions were enforced until - you'll have to read the signs. Didn't walk far. Just about 40 yards away. Walked in - and was invited to pick any spot. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors looks to be tight quarters with booths and a few counter stool seats. Two outdoor areas - we chose the area with the fire pit. Service was pretty good. Especially considering it was a little busy; included a big party. But she made her rounds - but we really didn't need much. Just a few refills and then eventually the bill and to go boxes. As for the food, I came, I liked and I ate it all. Even the hot dog. If you know me, I'm not a hot dog person. I prefer sausages. But I wanted something that was different than what I usually eat and I got it. I can't explain it - it wasn't about flavors but how it made me feel. Not about presentation. Just simple. Simple and good.
